Cartiera Vita-Mayer – The End

On August 11, 1977, after over a century of activity, the Vita-Mayer paper mill was shut down for good.

Interesting story, this is the link to wikipedia (in Italian).

Over 2400 employees at the top of its activity, it is nowadays one of the biggest industrial relics in the Olona Valley, and a good place for shooting pictures.

Be over-careful if you go there: the biggest buildings are full of asbestus, and the many “sealed” entrances are highly likely to leak.

The end – The Doors

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I’ll never look into your eyes…again
